Back to the 90’s

My day started by setting up breakfast for an All-Middle School teacher’s meeting.  Noah’s Bagels was very efficient; I was out of there in five minutes.  Setup didn’t take much longer.  Today, the teachers met in the old retirement center because my church didn’t have adequate wireless coverage, though they really liked the facilities.  The retirement center facilities were not great, and as it turned out, their wireless was no better than my church’s.  I think the Middle Schools are going to have a hard time finding a venue that can support 70 devices.

With that done, I went to the district office to turn in my paperwork, and then shop for tonight’s pot luck.  Yeah, I’ll be a substitute by Tuesday of next week!

Most of the afternoon was spent cooking.  Fortunately, my kids were home today (Teacher in-service day), so my son helped cook.  It would have been a much, much longer process if he had not.  In the evening, I went to class with “Hare Krishna” enchiladas, and the whole class ate very well while watching a series of student presentations.  It seems that everyone in this class is an excellent cook!

In the late evening, the kids and I watched Jurassic Park, complete with 1998 commercials that I had recorded – so many now dead companies who were advertising, and look at the size of those cell phones!  Film cameras were still being promoted as well.  Things have really changed in 14 years!
