Yesterday, I turned in my key and drove away from school with all my stuff.\u00a0 It\u2019s sad.\u00a0 I did get to meet the teacher, and he\u2019s pretty awesome.\u00a0 The kids are going to like him a lot.\u00a0 Strange, he looks like a thinner version of me; same age and same salt-and-pepper gotee.\u00a0 The two of us will spend one transition day together in January and then I\u2019ll be an on-call sub again\u2026 unless I get another long-term assignment.\u00a0 For now though, it\u2019s going to be all about the studying as I prepare for my English CSET exam.<\/p>\n
After school, I had a Christmas lunch with the middle school teachers.\u00a0 They haven\u2019t seen me since I began my long-term assignment, so they were asking me all about it.\u00a0 I had had an opportunity to see the middle school kids earlier in the day, since they were having a rally at the High School gym, not far from my classroom.\u00a0 So many of the kids that I had taught last year and a little bit this year have grown so much!\u00a0 One of my master teachers from last year has lost a lot of weight!\u00a0 After lunch, my wife and I went home, only to prepare for the next party for our lifegroup.\u00a0 That party was fun and loud: good food, good conversations, lots of wine and scotch.<\/p>\n
Jeffrey has now ended his third week of training, which I understand is a prelude to the week four events: obstacle course and gas chamber.\u00a0 One sounds fun, the other sounds annoying: really, why subject people to teargas?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
