I didn\u2019t get a phone call, but I also couldn\u2019t take a job today: I had a layout contract meeting this afternoon.<\/p>\n
I worked on supplying some stock ideas for my son\u2019s two week long stock contest in his Econ class, then I ate, watched an episode of Top Gear<\/i>, washed my Porsche, and then headed off to the meeting.\u00a0 The meeting cleared up a lot of things regarding this new chip project.\u00a0 I spent at least an hour looking through a microscope at the competitor\u2019s chip (which is no longer sold) and determined that it was even simpler than we had originally thought.\u00a0 How often can you say that?\u00a0 We also met with the fab people and another outside design consultant \u2013 my former, former boss.\u00a0 It was good to see him again.\u00a0 After a couple of hours, everyone was on the same page, and had come to the same conclusions about the chip and the process that I had come to after looking under the microscope.\u00a0 Starting this weekend, I can set up the chip environment for layout and then hopefully begin.<\/p>\n
Alas, the meeting ran long and I didn\u2019t have time to pick up groceries for dinner.\u00a0 I had to get on over to my last evening class for the year.\u00a0 Today was the continuation of the student presentations.\u00a0 I had done mine on Tuesday, so I was really only there for support.\u00a0 I had also turned in my final project via email earlier in the day.\u00a0 When I got all my papers back, they were all A\u2019s.\u00a0 Yeah!\u00a0 Class let out early too; yeah again!<\/p>\n
Just before class had started, I sought out my counselor to see what progress had happened on the student teaching front.\u00a0 It was good news: I would start at my wife\u2019s middle school, and I was approved by the district for all twelve weeks.\u00a0 The only hoop that remained was whether or not the supervisor would allow me to do the entire twelve weeks at the same school.\u00a0 She\u2019s the only one who might change things at this point.\u00a0 Everyone else is quite alright with me doing everything at one school.\u00a0 I\u2019d be setting a precedent for the university, but I\u2019m fine with that; I can be a trailblazer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
