Today was Halloween, but I didn\u2019t care \u2013 tonight I had class (Yeah! No trick-or-treaters at my door!).\u00a0 Since I had completed all my homework for both classes, I turned my attention to filling out the Milpitas District paperwork so I could sub.\u00a0 It took longer than I thought it would.\u00a0 After lunch, I played Minecraft until it was time to go to class.<\/p>\n
Class was very short tonight, and was followed by pizza and beer (sort of funny, since this is a Health class).\u00a0 One sad note: My teacher told us tonight that the reason she was not here the first week was because her husband had been put into hospice care. \u00a0She started teaching half way through week number two of this six week class.\u00a0 What she didn\u2019t tell us was that her husband died two weeks later over the weekend.\u00a0 She had been secretly mourning the loss of her husband the last two weeks of class.\u00a0 We all gave her a big hug.\u00a0 She said that this class helped her greatly in dealing with her loss \u2013 it gave her something useful to do.\u00a0 Starting this week, she also returned to her daytime kindergarten class.\u00a0 They were less helpful in helping her with her stress.\u00a0 She said that she would miss this particular class especially.\u00a0 I believe her.<\/p>\n
When I got home, the trick-or-treaters were still out.\u00a0 One group recognized Courtney from school and started shouting for \u201cMrs. Knitter.\u201d\u00a0 My wife was not happy that several 8th<\/sup> graders now knew where she lived.\u00a0 I guess this is one of the downsides of living right by where you work if you are a teacher.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today was Halloween, but I didn\u2019t care \u2013 tonight I had class (Yeah!
